To satisfy my lust for wanderlust and the daring innate nature of the adventurer, I succumbed to my passion for exploration and the excitement of tasting new and delicious cuisines. Traveling around capturing the essence of life and lifestyles, I set out on a tour that was unusually whimsy but perfectly chosen and was right up my alley. Knowing my adventurous nature, it was just like me to choose a trip that combines cuisines, cultures and curries! With my passion for unique and memorable wanderings, my trip blended the essence of travel, and though a long journey, was filled with the lasting experiences of an explorer.
With adventure coursing through my veins and anticipating the excitement of discovering exotic cuisines and idyllic holiday destinations, I decided to take a trip to India. I was thrilled to travel across the vast and varied terrain of an exotic country in South Asia that had evolved over 5,000 years from the famous Himalayas to the coast of the Indian Ocean. Surrounded by an interesting and exotic history, India is the second most populous country and the seventh largest with over 1.2 billion inhabitants.
And then…it was nostalgic time with a great trip to Taj Mahal, Agra which is about 3.5 hours away from Delhi. The Taj Mahal or Taj Palace was an inspiration to me with her love story, speaking volumes with his passion. I was mesmerized by the Mughal architecture and its splendid features which was illuminated by the fact that this gesture of love was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983. My journey through time began as I traversed charisma and culture with historical sites that ranged over the Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Jama Masjid, Humayun’s Tomb and other such Great sights in the city. Delhi took me on a journey of culinary discovery as I went on a long and interesting culinary journey with the popular street food, Mughlai and Frontier cuisine.

I was looking forward to visiting Mumbai as I grew up playing cricket in the canyons, eating world famous street food, and indulging in gulgappis, misal pav, dahi misal and pav bhaji. You’ve gone through a much needed culinary journey, savoring the savory side of life with traditional Shahi Mughal dishes, biryani, butter chicken and countless other wonderful and spicy Mumbai dishes.
Reminisce about your teenage days, escape to the culinary landscape of Mumbai and re-try the delicious cuisine. Spicy chaat snacks that tickled the taste buds like Vada Pav, Bhelpuri, Dahipuri, Panipuri, Sevpuri, Ragda Patis, Kebabs and famous Mumbai sandwiches including other local delights were a source of authentic gastronomic pleasures that recalled unforgettable times. The culinary scenario of Mumbai has constantly filled my soul with hearty and hearty cuisines as I swoop down on a repertoire of coastal Konkani meals, south Indian meals and snacks, seafood, Bori Mohalla cuisine, Mangalore meals, North Indian dishes, Parsi food trails and other regional bests. My all-time favorite desserts were the Kulfi, Ice golas, and mouth-watering sweet concoctions.
After buying some souvenirs for my friends back in the States at Bombay Bazaar, I strolled down Mumbai Marine Drive and watched the sunset cast a beautiful halo of light on the magnificent architecture of the Taj Palace. My charming and glamorous Mumbai diary kicked off at a delectable vegetarian stay at the famous Ram Naik Sadia House in Matunga, which served meals or meals, flavored with coconut and authentic South Indian masala, this exquisite must-try meal diversified my taste buds. Travel.
With ‘Khau’ meaning good dish and ‘Galli’ or little lane, street food in Mumbai goes on a fun journey with any number of food stalls showcasing a visual cuisine with multiple vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Khau Galli near Churchgate offered the sweet life with sandwiches, pav bhaji, strawberry juice, sugarcane juice, milkshakes and other great options for sugar addicts. And what can I say about the unassuming yet richly flavored Bade Miya behind the Taj who cooked up a storm with kebab and curry dishes that were a treat for the weary adventurer? This was a complete blessing, adding an exuberant sense of accomplishment.
Relaxed and rejuvenated with a relaxing setting, I retreated to Goa enjoying its beautiful beaches, Goan concerts, great cuisine, sun, sea, and sand. Along with the bohemian lifestyle and carefree frame of mind, I set out to enjoy the culture, curries, and cuisine of Goa. Indulging in fish curry and rice along with other local seafood, I ventured into Portuguese flavors that included Pork Vindaloo, Sorpotel, Calfreal and Beef Xacuti that took the taste to the pinnacle of delicious heights. Powerful and satisfying, Britos in Calangute on the Beach offers a charming setting with exquisite seafood. While the Ritz peppered my culinary excursion with prawns in Goan masala, crab cakes, pork vindaloo, spicy pork and other sumptuous dishes, my delicious excursion was quenched with a local beverage made of cashew nuts and coconut. Pepper, Margoa sprinkled my encounters of the savory kind with traditional Goan seafood classics and some international dishes while letting my taste buds go on a sweet journey with Bebinca and other local treats.
My diary of travel notes was blossoming by the time I got home creating a bubble of anticipation and exhilaration as I planned another exploration into the myriad colorful world of travel.
